These little pieces were the first of the window paintings that were less BIG. These are little pieces that can go anywhere. I rarely do small works anymore. I am not sure why that is but these few I love.
These nighttime paintings were a series I started in November and I wasn't sure where I was going with them. The idea for me was when I walk on a cold night and the windows of the buildings or homes are cozy and warm inside. The end result of these pieces are, to me, a moment in time. It is, as a painter, like creating a doll house with regard to rooms and colors and people. I don’t work from references and I think it makes for a more imaginative end result. Inventing is what is so appealing to me and giving each apartment a story. Like being a writer with paint.
