I did a whole series of lights on mountains in the snow. This is one of the last ones I have! This painting is so nuanced that I can almost tell you who lives in what neighborhood and the circular drives and tucked in areas are all a way of story telling in my mind. It probably doesn’t look like that to anyone else, but when I paint these scenes the lights just have a story behind them. The snow and vantage point gives me the abstraction I need to create something out of nothing and that is the beauty of oil painting for me. This piece is more blue tones than gray.
