These abstract paintings are more colorist paintings than actual abstract in the traditional sense. Most abstract works (the loose definition) are taking something recognizable and shifting it with paint to make it less so but with potentially more visual interest because of the lack of details. But these paintings are pure color theory and highly indulgent on my part to paint. They are almost like a lace curtain in that your top color, in this case a soft pink, is painted over a series of brighter and darker colors and how that is done creates the final work. I love to do them and I love to look at them. They are the original pops of color and these were down this Spring when I was planting my flowers and they are calming to paint and where I hang them determines what colors come out.
If you would rather have the piece shipped unframed then after you purchase it let me know and I will refund you the frame amount. It is normally $40 for very small works to $100 or so for larger ones. So if it not your style let me know!

Local City of Richmond Delivery available and shipping fees will be refunded. For larger works ( 16 x 20 or over) if you live outside the city limits but metro area of RVA, pickup or delivery can be arranged.
