Maple Shadow Frame

These abstract paintings are more colorist paintings than actual abstract in the traditional sense. Most abstract works (the loose definition) are taking something recognizable and shifting it with paint to make it less so but with potentially more visual interest because of the lack of details. But these paintings are pure color theory and highly indulgent on my part to paint. They are almost like a lace curtain in that your top color, in this case a warm jade and mint green, is painted over a series of brighter and darker colors and how that is done creates the final work. I love to do them and I love to look at them. They are the original pops of color and these were down this Spring when I was planting my flowers and they are calming to paint and where I hang them determines what colors come out.

They are amazingly flexible and I pair them with a standard artist supplies frame but think an overly decorated frame can be an amazing addition.
