I did a couple of bookshelf paintings earlier this year and there is something amazing about a bookshelf. It is repetitive but with little pops of color and books are some my favorite things so it has come up as a subject before. The young girl in the center feels like she is being asked a question from someone or maybe just deciding what to choose. This piece to me is like others I have done where it is like a candid photo of a moment. I tend to do that and do not even do it consciously.
