This is one of two library or bookshelf pieces I did earlier this year. She is basically in a window seat, something I used to feel was the pinnacle and height of posh when I was a kid in the 70’s. Those people with window seats had it going on. When I started this painting I was not thinking about that but it is true that whatever I feel comforted by I tend to paint. She is n the window seat, socks still on from after school and reading her book she has been dying to get to all day. As a painter, I focused on the light and illumination from the window seat lighting and it gives me the lighting I love in a piece of art.
