Maple Shadow Frame

There is a resort in the mountains of West Virginia I visited that inpired this painting. I recently re worked an area that just was not working and so I have been immersed it one again. I freely admit it is influence by David Hockney. I love the mountains, the evergreen trees, the bright yellow umbrellas and the people just living their best life. The yellow umbrellas against the purplish tones of the clubhouse in the background and the turquoise water just is the whole reason to be a painter.
