Maple Shadow Frame

I don’t paint this small very often but have gone back to it recently when I had to pack supplies for a retreat. 8 × 10 is such an intimate size and is actually as hard to paint as a larger painting in many ways. This piece was about the lamp and getting the glow of it and then the cat appeared. I love a cat in the window.
