I believe this small series of women with Victorian homes with jewel like colors must be coming from my escapism into any book I can read about a strong woman in times that make me just feel the woman power. I have recently read a few books where the wives would just travel for 4 months to a place their husband lived to then travel more and live grandly for where they were, but not at all where they were familiar. It is the same story all over history. So they would surround themselves with things that make them happy. I totally get it. The woman and her domain. The pinks are what I love here and the small paintings surrounding her. And the dog. And the cat.
