This piece was a result of a series of the fields and mountains and skies. It is always interesting to go from very small to very large and I love to paint large. I still paint fast and it still feels immediate and the different a large painting like this can make to a space is eye opening. I have large art work of others in my house and it works like wallpaper in that it just infuses the space with the art. It always seems more of a commitment and more expensive to me to do wallpaper but I am not into commitment. You can move that painting around! My point here is it is a commitment piece but sell that house and bring it with you. I have spent my whole career explaining the power art has in a home. A good piece of art will never get old. Plus, just hang it in a different place and you’ll be amazed. It is the ultimate reboot of a painting. This one has pinks and oranges as an underpainting so in person you see more of that but the overall effect is calm.
