Maple Shadow Frame

Under the gazebo series in early summer, this chair just has always been a favorite subject matter. It is a mid-century original which means it is not terribly comfortable but the lines are classic. It is iron and weighs so much, something that also does not endear it to someone who thinks they will just pull it up a little closer. But the shaded chair in front of the emerald grass of the early summer is what caught my eye in this painting. The beauty of that contrast. I already miss summer.
