Maple Shadow Frame

These are loosely based on zinnias in the garden at Nimrod Hall. with a favorite cottage creating a narrative back there. Zinnisa, if you have never planted them, are all but glowing when they are out in the sun and quite frankly are complicated flowers. So I just simplify them and throw all the color at them I can and enjoy myself. This painting has thrown my iPhone photo for a loop, it is just so vivid the phone makes it look flat. It isn’t. But it is not meek, either, so just be warned! I love good hot color and have been using Gapka Oils to get this look. Now all the other flowers without using it look sad.
