Maple Shadow Frame Included

This is a piece I painted from memory of two girls at the beach, trying to capture the snapshot feeling of a moment in time. Neither of the two girls is anyone specific and the idea for the painting was more focused on the reflections in the sand and the very sunny day specific shadows on the children to drive home the summertime feeling. I do love the body language of the two girls who may be sisters or not? I am always asked about not painting faces on my people and the answer is sometimes I do, but for paintings like this that are trying to capture the every person and not the specific one, I feel like it is distracting and not necassary to show features.  The paint on this piece is thick and adds to the visual interest of the piece.
