I did these series after a great week at the beach this March. I wear polarized sunglasses at the beach and it gives everything I see a glittery exaggerated color. Almost like it becomes an idealized version of what is really infant of you. This group of painting I did not paint with actual sunglasses on but I did wear my artist license rose colored glasses to push and exaggerate the colors as much as I could to create an idealized late afternoon sparkles on the water. Places where there is lot of neutrals and then raging bits of color are what appeals to me right now. These are so similar to the ski paintings but with just sand not snow. Water reflections not snowflakes. I have obviously enjoyed it.

This piece was the last I did from the series and she is a group effort from all the ones I did before. She is large but since it is more graphic she doesn’t need a huge space to hang.

In person these paintings are much softer. I guess I am throwing my camera a curve ball to have so many vivid colors. They are very vivid, don get me wrong, they are just photographing a little harsher than they are in person. In other words, they are better in person. I have taken some details to show things I don’t feel like are coming through. It is one of my favorite paintings.
