One of the things I find around Nimrod Hall are the enamel bowls with a red rim. I always think of the clever person who thought what the hell! I will put a red rim on this bowl and take it from being a meh bowl to a work of art. I love that little nod to design that elevates so many vintage items into beloved symbols of a time when you made a few, not thousands, of a product.

So naturally I gave her one and asked her to pose for me by the river. She was accommodating and this is the painting that I made. For those new to my work, she is a recurring character in my narrative work and no, I have no idea why. She is who I paint. I have stopped trying to figure it out.
