Shadow Frame

This is a painting I created from layers of paint on top of layers of under painting to make it very interesting far away and even more so up close. I have had this hanging in my house for a long time and never thought I would let it go but realized recently that if I paint for 30 years and keep one painting a year I will own 60 of my own pieces. Yikes. I decided right then and there that unless my children are in a painting they have to go. It is funny how you can, every once in a while, paint something you just want to keep and this was a piece I felt that way about. I still love it, so if it doesn't sell, it will stay right there on my wall. But I don't think I need 60 of my own paintings when I have far too much fun filling my house with other artists paintings.
