There is always a feeling of indulgence when I just let go and put the colors down that make me feel right. I am currently focusing on happier colors (I think that is used in a detrimental way by some but to me it is a serious compliment) but I always have because I really hate being sad and then there is the reality of you only paint what you paint. We don’t have a ton of leeway. I think that is something people who don’t paint don’t understand - you are what you are. You can fight it or give in and I gave in a while ago!

Give me a sunny day, a bright optimistic day and I will be there. All my new abstracts are focused on color and how color can dictate more than we think it can. This is part of my Holiday series. To me it speaks for itself I think but conjures beach, summer. candy, and everything in-between.
