Most all these tomato paintings are from this summer and many from my own two plants I had! For me, as a painter, the reds in a tomato itself are more red than maybe any other thing. I liven apple but it seems opaque and a tomato literally glows from within because of the translucent skin, so to paint they are just unique. This is a group from my own garden that definitely caught the light in an irresistible way.
