Maple Shadow Frame

Every now and then I haul all the equipment outside to do some plein air work- of which mine tends to just look like my normal work and not a pastoral landscape, never ceases to amaze me. All these little paintings tend to get more and more abstracted while still having representation objects. This one is the door to nowhere that is right below the stairs outside where I stay in the summer. I have it overflowing with flowers and a while back painted it royal blue so it would remind me of a Greek or Italian doorway. It worked.
