Maple Shadow Frame

This little piece was the first made in the series on what I guess I am calling the pink purse series. She is window shopping and enjoying dog walking wearing clothing of maybe someone from long ago or someone you could see today.

She is, of course, the laundry lady without her uniform. To read about how that happened, read about the painting of the Back Porch.

This painting unlocked almost a dozen paintings of this same subject matter and eventually she stopped walking the dog and started attending parties, and in all honestly, I was transported back to my really young days of drawing narratives. She is like my doll, I dress her, she is overly idealistic and perfect, and attends events and wears clothing I think are just perfect. It is truly a gift to have her to do the things I wish I could and do them with as much aplomb as she does!
