Nimrod Hall Summer Arts Program for Artists

Thanks for your interest in Nimrod Hall! Nimrod Hall is located in Bath County, Virginia, which is in the Alleghany Mountains of Virginia about an hour west of Staunton, VA and three hours from Washington, DC and Richmond, VA. The Summer Arts Program is geared toward visual artists and writers. There are four weeks in the summer where Nimrod Hall, which is a turn of the century summer resort, devotes its cottages for artists to paint or make prints, three weeks for writers. Nimrod is set up in the mode of an art colony where participants work on their own with no formal instruction. The sessions are one week long and there is an artist-in-residence who will informally lead the week with critiques and lectures/slides as well as offer one on one input. Participants are encouraged to follow their own vision and no formal classes are held.
