My husband flies small planes and now helicopters. I have never been such a fan of flying since I tend to think it might be a little dangerous but he loves it! And so do I when we get to fly cool places in a very small amount of time. We went to see where our daughter was going to go to college, right in the middle of the summer and I was immersed in painting while at Nimrod Hall. Like usual. I was enchanted by the patterns and grids that the farmland of Virginia makes from the air and was inspired to paint it immediately when we returned back to Bath County. The paintings are not meant to be exact replica's of any location but an abstract take on what Virginia showed my eyes from the sky. You can tell this is mid summer by the hay bales tucked over by the treeline that have been moved, and the ones still out in the fields, just rolled.
