About the Artist

I was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana and have been in Richmond, Virginia since the early 1990s. I have been a professional painter since 1996, and show in many galleries all over the region. I am on leave as a painting instructor for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Studio School (time- a forgotten commodity) as well as the Director of the Nimrod Hall Summer Arts Program for Artists, located in Bath County, Virginia. Recently, with the ages of my children finally allowing it, I am doing occasional week-long workshops in exotic locations! Mexico was the most recent, with the Bahamas a few years ago. I hope to go somewhere very exotic next winter and will keep you posted.

I am happily married to my amazingly supportive husband, Will Loving, and have three children, Sadie, William and Charlie. The three children are my main reason for finally opening my own gallery in Richmond. Being a bit of an over achiever (read: stress case), when a show would come up, I would drive myself nuts to work, work, work instead of just doing it nice and easy. Not really my style, but maybe a little less stressed would make for a better solution! So for about a month or so before a show I would hardly see my family at all and not be much fun to be around. So I am opening the Gallery this upcoming Friday in the hopes that I will make artwork on a time line more family friendly and less show oriented. I am in for the long haul so I better make it work. Hope you can stop in soon. I hope to have all the work in the shop listed at some point but am not holding my breath for that to happen right away. :)
